A site visit, free, and no pitch
He comes out, looks at the actual space, takes measurements and photographs, and tells you what is realistic, including when the answer is that the project you have in mind is not the right one. That conversation costs nothing and is the most valuable hour in the whole thing.
- Cost
- Free, with no obligation
- What you get
- An honest read on the budget and the scope
Written, line by line
A scope with the work spelled out, so you can compare it honestly against anyone else’s bid instead of guessing what is included. If a competing quote is cheaper, this is the document that tells you why.
- Format
- Written, itemized, yours to keep
- Use it to
- Compare bids on the same basis
Or you do not, and that is fine
Plenty of these conversations end with somebody deciding to wait a year, or to do a smaller version, or to spend the money on something else entirely. Nobody is going to chase you. Your number does not go anywhere.
